About

Assalamu alaikum, wa rahmatullahi wa barakatu. Welcome to my website, which opened its doors in 2011 and is tailored especially for Muslim women. I started when the internet was sparse and there weren’t many options for Muslimas.

My name is Zakeeya Ali, and I’m a mentor, writer, and designer with over 20 years of experience. Most importantly, I’m a grateful wife, blessed mom of six, and happy homemaker, alhumdulillah. My work began as a hobby that turned into something bigger than I imagined, and years later I still maintain it between taking care of myself, my family, and home.

I'm so grateful to Almighty Allah SWT for His endless mercy and infinite blessings each and every day. Over the years, I’ve published over 32 children’s Islamic ebooks, 6 adult ebooks, 3 paperback books, and 25 paperback journals, and I have more coming out every year, inshallah.

My professional background is in psychology, sociology, information science, and education. I was a teacher by profession, but I chose to homeschool my kids since 2010. I actually started my writing journey when I began homeschooling in order to share our journey and help other women who were doing the same.

I’ve taken numerous personal development, marriage, parenting, relationship, and communication training programs and studied to become a mentor due to the number of requests I’d receive on a daily basis for support. Back in 2011, I was one of the first professional mentors for Muslim women, when it wasn't as popular as it is nowadays.

I’m also a student of knowledge in Islamic studies, strengthening relationships, effective communication, children’s education, herbalism, and Prophetic remedies in order to offer advice that is based on our Islamic ethos and fitra.

Once upon a time, I struggled too, both as a young woman and in my roles as a wife and mother. Only by receiving mentoring from some amazing coaches, was I able to set my priorities straight and find a healthy balance in my life. I intend to offer my clients the same, but with the extra benefit of Islamic guidance.

Nowadays, there’s so much fear and bad advice being given to Muslim women (I know this because I undo a lot of what’s been told to my clients), so enlisting help should be based on experience and reputation. That’s what I offer sisters via my website, books, mentoring, and social platforms.

Some More Background

I founded this website (formerly named Muslimommy) in 2011, and I’ve mentored countless Muslim women from all over the world based on our traditional Islamic principles and our fitra (our innate nature) as women. I always aim to instruct others with reference to the Quran and the example of our beloved Prophet PBUH.

During some extremely challenging years, I lost myself to despair and became a victim of my circumstances. My only salvation was turning to Allah SWT to find the sakina we are meant to attain as believers. Through nafl salah, mindful dua, focusing on gratitude, placing full trust in Allah SWT, learning about my innate nature as a woman, taking better care of myself, understanding how men think, and the benefits of journaling, I was able to find tranquility in my life and heal from my pain.

That’s why my main focus is to assist Muslim women, both singles and wives, to improve their relationships with themselves, their Creator, and the ones they love. My experiences and journey have taught me so much, and those valuable lessons are what I share with clients and readers.

You Can Find Me On:

I leave you with the words of Imam Ibn al-Qayyim, who teaches us about the needs of our hearts…

“In the heart there is a sense of untidiness which can only be gathered by turning to Allah. In the heart there is a sense of loneliness which can only be removed by coming closer to Allah. In the heart there is fear and anxiety which only leaves by fleeing to Allah. And in the heart there is a sense of regret which can only be removed by being satisfied with Allah.”

Peace Be Upon You. Your sister in Islam, Zakeeya Ali
